In June 2016, the BS-DNP program for nurse anesthetists received approval from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs to award the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree to graduates of the nurse anesthesia program. The 36-month, 102 credit curriculum meets the requirements of both institutions and accrediting bodies. The curriculum is centered on the core values of integrity, excellence, resolve and balance and our program motto of “Vigilance, Knowledge and Compassion”.

A DNP-prepared nurse anesthetist is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) prepared to engage in full scope of practice who provides anesthesia care in diverse settings.  Nurse anesthetist students acquire advanced skills in health assessment, planning, and management of anesthesia care needs for patients across the lifespan in diverse settings through a curriculum that provides extensive and varied clinical experiences and role preparation.  Nurse anesthetists deliver comprehensive anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan in hospital and outpatient settings.
