The African and African American Studies minor exposes students to an interdisciplinary curriculum that is focused on the study of the history, culture, government, politics, contemporary issues and experiences affecting people of African descent in the United States and societies in the developing African nations. The minor enhances career prospects for students interested in professional employment as school teacher, guidance counselor, human rights activist, community outreach officer, social worker, multicultural affairs liaison, cultural resources officer, foreign service specialist and diversity consultant.
