Human Resource Management encompasses the processes and systems used to manage talent within an organization. In order to gain a competitive advantage, organizations need to attract, retain, and develop highly skilled and engaged employees. Organizations also need to manage the “people issues” that arise when individuals come together and become members of a group. Human Resource professionals are key players in attaining both goals. They are the link between an organization’s leaders and employees. Students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a concentration in Human Resource Management will learn the theoretical and legal bases of Human Resource processes and how to apply that knowledge in the 21st century workplace. Specific coursework include the subfield of recruitment & selection, workforce development, employment law and labor relations.
