PHY 252 Sustainability From A Physics Perspective

Fall/Spring/Summer

Applications of physics including electricity, work, energy, and thermodynamics to the consumption and generation of sustainable energy. Students will build solar or wind model systems that generate sustainable energy, compare their efficiency to commercial sustainable plants, and make highly informed determinations about the long-term viability of sustainable energy sources vs. fossil-fuel based sources. Additionally, students will discuss and make informed comments in their class presentations, on energy and climate policy.
