BIO 406 Biology Research I
This is the first course in a 4-course series that is designed to support and guide students in the design and execution of an independent research project. During the course series, students will work closely with a research mentor and fellow students to investigate a topic, design a laboratory or field study, and collect and analyze data. In this course, a student will begin the process of experimental design for original research, by developing hypotheses towards a fundamental biological question, and developing a formal research proposal. Prerequisite: Students must have earned 60 or more credits and minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average at the time of application and departmental approval.
