CHM 370 Bioinorganic ChemistrySpring
This course explores the inorganic chemistry related to the cell’s need for metals. Topics include principles of coordination chemistry, the role of proteins and nucleic acids in metal complexes, and the reactivity of metal complexes within metalloenzymes. Additional matters related to metals in medicine, metal uptake and availability, metal toxicity, catalytic cycles with and without redox chemistry, and electron transport are covered.
