BIO 324 Marine Ecology of the Chesapeake Bay
The goal of this course is to provide an in-depth understanding of marine ecology using examples from the Chesapeake Bay environment. Topics covered will include the history of the bay, hydrography, plankton ecology, bottom communities, fisheries, and human impacts on the bay. The laboratory component will include independent research on topics related to Chesapeake Bay ecology as well as a weekend field trip to the Bay. 3 hours lecture. 1 three-hour laboratory. Prerequisite: BIO 290 .
