NUR 300 Pharmacology for Nurses



The pharmacologic impact of various classifications of drugs on patients across the lifespan is examined in this course. Examination of major drug classifications and specific drug prototypes within these classifications is included. Students also learn to utilize their knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics in relation to patient care as they consider appropriate nursing implications associated with administration of drugs from each major classification. Concepts of health promotion and alternative therapy are also addressed within the context of this course. Prerequisite: NUR 210/211  and    Corequisite: NUR 340/341
