NUR 210/211 Basic Principles in Nursing Practice
The first clinical course introduces the nursing student to professional nursing roles and basic human needs of individuals. Students use selected theories in conjunction with the nursing process in providing care to clients. Emphasis is placed on communication, data collection, and beginning administration of drugs. Clinical experiences are conducted in the skills laboratory and in selected health care settings. 3 class periods. 6 clinical experience hours. Prerequisite: FYS 100 , PSY 100 , SOC 100 , BIO 150/151 , CHM 122/123 , BIO 220/221 , BIO 222/223 , BIO 230/231 , FCO 105 , FCO 215 , NUR 201 , NUR 202 Corequisite: NUR 211
