BIO 362 Microbial Physiology
Microbial Physiology integrates biochemistry and genetics in order to facilitate the understanding of the microbial cell. Several broad subjects will be addressed: 1–interaction between communities of microorganisms and their environment, 2–metabolism and energy generation alternatives, 3–macromolecule biosysnthesis and function, 4–integration of metabolism. 5–genomic structure and function. Well studied experimental systems will be discussed, and presented as examples to facilitate understanding and appreciation for diversity of different species of microorganisms. Corequisite: BIO 290
