ME 100 Introduction to Mechanical Engineering

Spring Semester

This course further develops the basic design and fabrication skills necessary for mechanical engineers. Coverage includes computer-aided design, geometric projection, dimensional tolerancing, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-numerically-controlled machining. Students will learn manufacturing processes such as turning and milling via hands-on training in the machine shop. The course includes two hands-on project builds using both manual and computer-numerically-controlled machines. Prerequisite:

EGR 100

with a grade of 2.
