ECH 320 Teaching Mathematics at the Early Childhood LevelFall-Spring Semesters
This course provides preparation for and practice in teaching early childhood mathematics. Students are provided with the essential strategies that facilitate the development of mathematical concepts in the early childhood curriculum. The course includes instructional techniques, assessment strategies, using children’s literature, and cooperative grouping through “hands-on” inquiry. A process approach that meets the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards is used in this course. Prerequisite: PPES.
