BIO 240 Genetics

Fall-Spring Semester

The basic principles of Mendelian, non-Mendelian, and molecular genetics are considered in this course. The structure and function of the gene, patterns of inheritance, gene interaction, and gene regulation are discussed. The laboratory component emphasizes molecular biology and experimental approaches to genetics. 3 hours lecture. 1 three-hour laboratory (BIO241). Prerequisite: BIO 142  or BIO 150  with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
