French Minor


The French minor emphasizes the acquisition of skills in all aspects of the language - listening comprehension, reading, speaking, writing and cultural understanding.  Knowledge of French gives students a competitive edge when entering careers that seek applicants who are able to communicate in one of the six official languages of the United Nations.  Students learn about cultural diversity and become more aware of their own world view and that of other people around the world.

Requirements:


Eighteen credits of French courses beyond the elementary level, including at least six credits at the 300 level. Of the six credits at the 300 level, three credits must be a French literature course.
