MUS 480 Jazz and Popular Music Theory

Spring

Jazz and Popular Music Theory is the study of melody, rhythm, harmony, chords, scales, and modes found in jazz and popular music. Students will learn to play and/or sing in jazz and popular styles, and will be expected to produce simple compositions and arrangements, using all of these elements as they relate to jazz and popular music. Prerequisite: MUS 394 .
