CVE 340 Structural Engineering IFall Semester
This course focuses on classic determinate structural analysis. Topics include loads, load paths, displacements of structures, the principle of virtual work, force methods of indeterminate structural analysis, structural optimization, beams and columns. A project requiring design and testing of a structure to meet given constraints will be required. Substantial emphasis will be placed on writing skills through a detailed design report. Prerequisite: 2.0 or higher in ME 264 and FCO 105 or WRT 102.
