MBA 512 Business Intelligence and Information Management
This course provides an introduction to the field of business analytics, which has been defined as the extensive use of data, statistical and quantitative analysis, exploratory and predictive models, and factbased management to inform decisions and actions. The development and use of data warehouses and data marts to support business analytics is discussed. The course has a focus on practical IT skills required to model and solve business problems. It is an inter-disciplinary course that draws upon problems from accounting, finance, marketing, production, and human resource fields. The course emphasizes learning-by-doing using Excel and its add-ons as the primary tool. Prerequisite: MBA 503 and MBA 505 (3 credits)
