The Exercise Science major features two concentrations in order to meet the needs of a wide array of students. The Professional Track prepares students for graduate-level training in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Dietetics, Rehabilitation Science, Genetic Counseling, Athletic Training, and Exercise Physiology, among others. The Health and Wellness track prepares students for careers in Personal Training, Group Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Health Coaching, Fitness Facility Management, and Corporate Wellness. Both tracks rely on a core set of courses foundational to the study of Exercise Science. These include: Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, and Exercise Physiology. Both tracks also allow students to pursue a variety of certifications including, for example, the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification. They both may also be coupled with minors and certificates; whether they be Athletic Coaching, Nutrition, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Recreation and Wellness Management, or others.
