Information Systems Minor

The Information Systems minor provides a foundation in information systems, which along with the chosen major enables a student to pursue entry-level information systems career opportunities in specialized fields of expertise.

Students must attain a 2.0 or higher in each course that serves as a prerequisite to a subsequent Business course. (Refer to the course description for specific prerequisites.) Failure to attain a 2.0 in prerequisite courses may lengthen the time to graduation. Students graduating with a declared major in Computer Information Systems may not simultaneously declare a minor in Information Systems.

Requirements (18 credits)

IFS 175 Development Fundamentals 3 credit hours
IFS 225 Application Development 3 credit hours

Minor Electives (300-Level)

Students must complete 6 credits of the following:

IFS 230 Internet Communications 3 credit hours
IFS 305 Management Information Systems 3 credit hours
IFS 320 Constructing Cloud Applications 3 credit hours
IFS 335 Cloud Infrastructure 3 credit hours

Minor Electives (400-Level)

Students must complete 6 credits of the following:

CYB 475 Cybersecurity 3 credit hours
IFS 465 Business Intelligence 3 credit hours
IFS 490 Information System Internship I 3 credit hours
