Visual Communication Minor

The minor in Visual Communication provides students with an opportunity to learn how to use imagery, typography, and technology to better understand the role of graphic design in many disciplines. From practical hands-on studio work to critical discussion, the minor in Visual Communication provides valuable skills that are beneficial to all majors.

Requirements (15 credits):

ART 101 Art and Visual Culture 3 credit hours
OR
GRD 235 Concepts of Computer Graphics 3 credit hours

12 credits from the following:

ART 215 Drawing I 3 credit hours
ART 246 Digital Photography 3 credit hours
ART 389 History of Graphic Design 3 credit hours
GRD 200 Introduction to Graphic Design 3 credit hours
GRD 208 Introduction to Letterpress 3 credit hours
GRD 218 Typography I 3 credit hours
GRD 247 The Digital Image 3 credit hours
GRD 301 Lettering Arts 3 credit hours
GRD 340 Web Design I 3 credit hours
