Economics Minor

The Economics minor explores a broad range of economic phenomena, institutions, and policies. Designed for students from all majors, the Economics minor provides the foundation in economic analysis needed for careers in business, government, public service, and law.

Students must attain a 2.0 or higher in each course that serves as a prerequisite to a subsequent Business course. (Refer to the course description for specific prerequisites.) Failure to attain a 2.0 in prerequisite courses may lengthen the time to graduation. Students graduating with a declared major in Applied Economics may not simultaneously declare a minor in Economics.

Requirements (18 credits):

ECO 200 Principles of Economics (Macro) 3 credit hours
ECO 201 Principles of Economics (Micro) 3 credit hours
ECO 350 Intermediate Microeconomics 3 credit hours
ECO 360 Intermediate Macroeconomics 3 credit hours
IBS 401 International Economics 3 credit hours

Plus 3 credits of the following:

BUS 498 Independent Study 1-3 credit hours each semester
ECO 205 Economic Perspectives 3 credit hours
ECO 315 Environmental and Natural Resource Economics 3 credit hours
ECO 340 Sustainable Development Economics 3 credit hours
ECO 345 The Economics of Urban Revitalization 3 credit hours
ECO 370 Money and Banking 3 credit hours
ECO 390 Managerial Economics 3 credit hours
