Requirements for Graduation:
To be eligible for graduation, students majoring in Middle Level Education, Social Studies must complete all program requirements including a minimum of 148 credits, achieve a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average, and complete the General Education Requirements of the College. Courses used to complete General Education Requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.
In addition, students majoring in Middle Level Education, Social Studies must achieve a grade of 3.0 or higher in each of the following six courses—WRT102, WRT202, MAT115, MAT215, EDU 200, and EDU 210. Moreover, a 2.0 or higher must be achieved in all remaining Common Core courses. Students seeking certification in Middle Level Education will be required to have 150 hours of Field Experience prior to the Student Teaching Semester and meet specific requirements as noted in the Certification Requirements section in the Department of Education.
