Middle Level Education (4-8), Science, B.S.

Requirements for Graduation:

To be eligible for graduation, students majoring in Middle Level Education, Science must complete all program requirements including a minimum of 148 credits, achieve a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average, and complete the General Education Requirements of the College. Courses used to complete General Education Requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

In addition, students majoring in Middle Level Education, Science must achieve a grade of 3.0 or higher in each of the following six courses—WRT102, WRT202, MAT115, MAT215,  EDU 200, and EDU 210. Moreover, a 2.0 or higher must be achieved in all remaining Common Core courses. Students seeking certification in Middle Level Education will be required to have 150 hours of Field Experience prior to the Student Teaching Semester and meet specific requirements as noted in the Certification Requirements section in the Department of Education.

1 Satisfies Area Distribution Requirements.

2 Grade earned must be a 2.0 or higher. This includes all courses in field of major study.

3 EDU 480 Community and Legal Issues in Education  must be scheduled the fall or spring term immediately prior to the Student Teaching Semester.

4 Students are required to have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 before the beginning of the Student Teaching Semester.

5 Taken as an option to MLE 495  by students seeking the degree without certification.
