Computer Science Minor

The Computer Science Minor is designed to augment the skills of students majoring in chemistry, mathematics, as well as those students outside of the Kinsley School of Engineering Science and Technology with inclination and strength in this area. Students can greatly broaden their post-graduate horizons through this minor, by adding computing facility to the proficiencies gained through their major program. A maximum of 9 credits from a student’s major can be used to fulfill the CS minor requirements.

Requirements (15-16 credits):

CS 101 Fundamentals of Computer Science I 3 credit hours
CS 201 Fundamentals of Computer Science II 3 credit hours
MAT 171 Calculus I 4 credit hours OR
MAT 120 Applied Calculus 3 credit hours

3 credit hours from the following:

CS 320 Software Engineering and Design 3 credit hours
CS 330 Network Applications and Protocols 3 credit hours
CS 340 Programming Language Design 3 credit hours
CS 350 Data Structures 3 credit hours
CS 360 Analysis of Algorithms 3 credit hours
CS 420 Operating Systems 3 credit hours

3 credit hours from the following (must be different than the course selected from the above category):
