Visual Communication Minor

The minor in Visual Communication provides all interested students with an opportunity to learn how to use imagery, typography and technology to better understand the role of publication, web design, animation and photography in many disciplines. From practical hands-on studio work to critical discussion, the minor in Visual Communication provides valuable skills that are beneficial to all majors.

Requirements (18 credits):

ART 101 Art and Visual Culture 3 credit hours
ART 235 Concepts of Computer Graphics 3 credit hours

12 credits from the following:

ART 200 Introduction to Graphic Design 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 208 Introduction to Letterpress 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 215 Drawing I 3 credit hours
ART 218 Typography I 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 231 Concepts of Design 3 credit hours
ART 246 Digital Photography 3 credit hours
ART 247 The Digital Image 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 296 Publication Design 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 301 Lettering Arts 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 339 Motion Graphics 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 340 Web Design I 3 credit hours (with permission of instructor)
ART 389 History of Graphic Design 3 credit hours
