The General Business Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) provides a broad-based education in all business disciplines but with sufficient depth that students engage in higher-level learning in key disciplines.  This major provides the education required for “generalist” managerial positions.  These are managers who understand how people within the organization behave.  Management generalists are not tied to a particular functional area, which means they can occupy a wide range of positions within an organization in a wide array of organizations in business, government, and the non-profit sector.  A degree in Business Administration is also beneficial to student who want to enter corporate management training programs or perform analytical work and projects within an organization.

Requirements for Graduation:

To be eligible for graduation, students majoring in General Business BBA must complete a minimum of 121 credits, achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and complete the General Education Requirements of the College. A minimum grade of 2.0 is required for First Year Seminar and all courses taken as part of Foundations. Courses used to complete General Education Requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

The General Education Requirements of the college require students to successfully complete First Year Seminar, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, and a Constellation. Students who enter the college with 30 credit hours completed will not take a First Year Seminar course and therefore must take an additional 3 credits for graduation. Transfer students that are awarded 60 or more credits upon acceptance to York College will not be required to complete a Constellation.

Students majoring in General Business BBA must maintain a 2.0 average in the General Business Component courses. In addition, students must attain a 2.0 or higher in each course that serves as a prerequisite to a subsequent business course, (refer to the course description for specific prerequisites). Failure to attain a 2.0 in prerequisite courses may lengthen the time to graduation. Students must also earn a grade of 2.0 or higher in their senior capstone course, BUS 494 . This major requires a second major or a minor be completed  with a cumulative 2.0 average.

A total of 48 credits (including FYS, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, Constellation, and Minor courses) must be taken outside of the Graham School of Business.  Students who are waived from FYS must complete 3 credits of non-business coursework.  Students waived from MAT 105  must complete 3 credits of non-business coursework.
