Master Business Administration, MBA

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed to meet the needs of students who seek an integrated program for development as a professional manager and leader. Students develop managerial skills in policy formulation, problem solving, decision making, and leadership. MBA candidates build a solid base for continuous self-development as a practicing manager in their field of specialization. The MBA seeks to further students’ professional network through meaningful interaction with professors, student colleagues and captains of industry. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at York College serves the needs of working professionals by offering all courses during evening hours, Monday through Thursday and Saturday.

The program was established in 1977 and has held national accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs since 1998.

MBA Program Policies:

  • The MBA builds upon fundamental knowledge of business concepts.  Applicants with an undergraduate degree outside of Business are required to demonstrate academic proficiency in business concepts prior to beginning MBA courses.
  • Up to 6 core credit hours may be waived depending upon a student’s undergraduate degree.  A minimum of 30 credit hours is required to complete the MBA degree.  Students may need to complete additional elective courses to reach the 30-credit minimum.

MBA Elective Courses (6 credits)


Students must complete 6 credits of elective courses, choosing from any offered MBA courses outside the core curriculum.
