The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a concentration in Advertising and Digital Marketing is designed to prepare students for careers in the field of mass media promotion.  This concentration places special focus and emphasis on the rapidly expanding opportunities for careers utilizing social media and the Internet as commercial communication media.  In today’s market almost every business has a presence both on the web and on social media.  This major helps to develop a skill set of value across the entire range of businesses and organizations.

Requirements for Graduation:

To be eligible for graduation, students majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Advertising and Digital Marketing must complete a minimum of 121 credits of which 48 credits must be from non-business courses, achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and complete the General Education Requirements of the College. A minimum grade of 2.0 is required for First Year Seminar and all courses taken as part of Foundations. Courses used to complete General Education Requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

The General Education Requirements of the college require students to successfully complete First Year Seminar, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, and a Constellation. Students who enter the college with 30 credit hours completed will not take a First Year Seminar course and therefore must take an additional 3 credits for graduation. Transfer students that are awarded 60 or more credits upon acceptance to York College will not be required to complete a Constellation.

Students majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Advertising and Digital Marketing must maintain a 2.0 average in the General Business Component courses and a 2.0 average in the Advertising and Digital Marketing component courses. In addition, students must attain a 2.0 or higher in each course that serves as a prerequisite to a subsequent business course, (refer to the course description for specific prerequisites). Failure to attain a 2.0 in prerequisite courses may lengthen the time to graduation. Students must also earn a grade of 2.0 or higher in their senior capstone course, BUS 494 . This major requires a second major or a minor be completed with a cumulative 2.0 average.

A total of 48 credits (including FYS, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, Constellation, and Minor courses) must be taken outside of the Graham School of Business.  Students who are waived from FYS must complete 3 credits of non-business coursework.  Students waived from MAT 105   must complete 4 credits of non-business coursework.  Students graduating with a declared major in Business Administration with a concentration in Advertising and Digital Marketing may not simultaneously declare a minor in Business Administration, Advertising or Marketing, and may not also pursue a B.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing.
