Effective leadership is essential for any organization or group to succeed.  Leadership involves guiding and motivating others toward the accomplishment of a goal, and facilitating individual and collective efforts to successfully achieve that goal.  Leaders are also the primary facilitators of change within an organization.  The 21st century workplace presents unique opportunities and challenges for managing people and navigating the rapid pace of change.  The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Dynamics will help future leaders to develop competencies in organizational analysis, decision making, conflict management, motivational techniques, group dynamics, relationship building, and change management.  Courses in the Leadership and Organizational Dynamics concentration provide students with the theoretical foundations of leadership and ample opportunities to apply those theories through interactive and experiential learning.  Students in this major will learn how to interpret and analyze situational contexts and choose the appropriate leadership approach for each context.  Students are prepared to become business and organizational leaders with the ability to apply best practices in management and leadership.

Requirements for Graduation:

To be eligible for graduation, students majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Dynamics must complete a minimum of 121 credits of which 48 credits must be from non-business courses, achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher, and complete the General Education Requirements of the College. A minimum grade of 2.0 is required for First Year Seminar and all courses taken as part of Foundations. Courses used to complete General Education Requirements may not be taken on a pass/fail basis.

The General Education Requirements of the college require students to successfully complete First Year Seminar, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, and a Constellation. Students who enter the college with 30 credit hours completed will not take a First Year Seminar course and therefore must take an additional 3 credits for graduation. Transfer students that are awarded 60 or more credits upon acceptance to York College will not be required to complete a Constellation.

Students majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Dynamics must maintain a 2.0 average in the General Business Component courses and a 2.0 average in the Leadership and Organizational Dynamics component courses. In addition, students must attain a 2.0 or higher in each course that serves as a prerequisite to a subsequent business course, (refer to the course description for specific prerequisites). Failure to attain a 2.0 in prerequisite courses may lengthen the time to graduation. Students must also earn a grade of 2.0 or higher in their senior capstone course, BUS 494 . This major requires a second major or a minor be completed  with a cumulative 2.0 average.

A total of 48 credits (including FYS, Foundations, Disciplinary Perspectives, Constellation, and Minor courses) must be taken outside of the Graham School of Business.  Students who are waived from FYS must complete 3 credits of non-business coursework.  Students waived from MAT 105   must complete 4 credits of non-business coursework.  Students graduating with a declared major in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Dynamics may not simultaneously declare a minor in Business Administration, Leadership and Change, Management, or a second major in Human Resource Management.
