The Theatre program at York College provides students with the knowledge and experience necessary to continue with careers in acting, directing, technical theatre, arts management or scholarship. Students complete instruction in all areas of theatre practice, history, and literature with a program that emphasizes a practical approach with several opportunities each semester to participate in productions. With a major in Theatre, students are prepared for professional jobs and internships as well as graduate school. A minor in Theatre will augment a student’s major by improving co-operative skills, by developing imaginative problem-solving techniques, and by engaging communication styles useful in business, public relations, teaching, and law.
