HIS 480 Cooperative Work Experience in HistoryFall/Spring
This course provides specialized historical experience and career readiness learning opportunities with various local historical agencies at a level that goes beyond the typical 3-credit internship. This community-based experiential learning course is designed to introduce the student to the broad range of public history activities. These include archival management, curatorial, museum educator, and research activities. Students are required to spend a minimum of 40 hours a semester per credit hour received (240 hours for 6 credits and 360 hours for 9 credits) working on site. Departmental approval is required in advance. Grading will be Pass/Fail. Prerequisite: Students should have completed 60 credits and should have a GPA of at least 2.5. All students will require departmental approval to register for this course.
