INT 151 Applied Languages IFall/Spring
This course offers the opportunity to apply French, German, or Spanish to a subject area of interest that is outside of the French, German, or Spanish program. Students will select and read texts in French, German, or Spanish pertaining to a course of their choice taught in English that they are taking concurrently with INT 151. Texts will be selected in consultation with the professor in both INT 151 and the relevant concurrent course, and will reflect the student’s degree of French, German, or Spanish proficiency. Using skills of linguistic and cultural analysis, students will enlarge their understanding of that concurrent course to include viewpoints beyond the English-language sources being used for that course. Activities will include readings, discussions, oral presentations, short translations with and without AI, and a roundtable discussion. No prior French, German, or Spanish is required for enrollment in this course.Â
