CM 317 Film Producing

Fall/Spring Alternate Years

This course is an advanced study of producing in cinema. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the various types of film producers and the work they do in guiding a movie from its inception to its completion. Special attention will be paid to the role of the producer in developing and financing projects, setting budgets and production schedules, assembling and managing casts and crews, and distributing and marketing films. Prerequisite: CM 208
