CM 312 Cinematography

Fall/Spring Alternate Years

This course is an advanced workshop devoted to camerawork and lighting in narrative cinema. Students will learn how to plan and shoot dramatic scenes employing framing, contrast, color, light, camera movement and other tools of visual storytelling. They will also learn how to use cinematic cameras,camera supports, and light kits safely, and how to work effectively with key collaborators on set including the director, the gaffer, and the camera operator. Prerequisite: CM 242 Â
