CM 315 Acting for the CameraFall/Spring Alternate Years
This course is devoted to the craft of acting in narrative cinema. In it, students will learn how screen acting differs from stage acting, and practice acting for the camera in a workshop setting. Over the course of the semester, they will demonstrate their ability to audition for a film role, to develop a character through script analysis, and to shape a scene in rehearsal. Individual and group projects will require students to perform on camera alone and with scene partners, under the guidance of a director, using an awareness of blocking, framing, and continuity, among other screen acting tools.Â
