The laboratory Component of Genetics emphasizes molecular biology and experimental approaches to modern genetics. Students will isolate and analyze DNA through PCR and restriction digestion, determine and characterize genotypes and phenotypes with bioinformatic tools, identify species based on genetic information, and clone out a gene. 1 three-hour lab. Corequisite: BIO 240
