MAT 171 Calculus IFall/Spring
Both a theoretical and an applied approach are emphasized in this in-depth study of introductory calculus. The topics of the course include a review of algebra and trigonometry, limits, differentiation, and applications of the derivative. A strong background in algebra and trigonometry is necessary for this course, and placement into it is determined by the mathematics placement test. Prerequisite: A strong background in algebra and trigonometry or precalculus. Placement is determined by the mathematics placement test.
