LIT 283 British Literature: Shakespeare and Beyond

Global literature from the tip of South America to China, from California to South Africa, has been influenced widely and deeply by the literature of Britain, and by no writer more than that of Shakespeare. This influence has happened through forces economic, market, cultural, and violent. This course studies this literature alongside its impact and use in England and far beyond.
