GRM 315 Literature of the German-Speaking World

This course introduces students to literary texts from a variety of genres in the German-speaking world. Students will explore the role of cultural, social, and historical contexts as they shape and appear in the texts, and ways in which the texts can be relevant for us in our own time and place. The course will also offer insights into the losses and gains that occur when texts are translated from their original language. Students taking the course as part of their German minor will read and write in German. The course will be taught in English.
