ECH 315 Teaching Social Studies Methods

Fall/Spring

This course will prepare students for teaching social studies methods in the elementary and middle level classroom environment. Course content deals with appropriate pedagogy, development in approaches, methods and materials for teaching social studies. Emphasis is on cross-curricular planning and on the utilization of children’s literature in teaching social studies. The course is designed to prepare beginning teachers to effectively implement the state level and national social studies standards. Prerequisite: Teacher Candidacy.
