This course looks at organizational theory, design, and the behavior of people in organizations. The entire workplace can definitely be affected by positive workplace emotions. Organizations would not exist without employees. For that reason, to understand organizations and organizational theory, we need to spend some time looking at perception, judgment, emotion, values, and attitudes—those qualities that make individuals unique. These human factors greatly impact organizational functioning. Specific topics include developing an understanding of organizations, the effects of human qualities on organizations, organizational structure, new organizational design options, work design employee motivation, group behavior in organizations, teamwork in organizations, communication in organizations, and organizational culture. 3 credit hours
