MHA 501 Healthcare InformaticsFall
The field of Health Informatics is at the forefront of exciting new development. Information system planning is complex and challenging. Once the information system is integrated and properly interfaced, it offers a great opportunity for efficiency. Specific topics include introduction to healthcare informatics; theoretical foundations; information management systems; applications to move data to information and knowledge; knowledge representation; communication technologies and e‐health; decision support systems; the health care professional role in designing, implementing, and evaluating systems; human‐technology interaction; people and organizational issues; and legal, ethical, and policy issues in healthcare informatics. 3 credit hours
