MPA 517 Governmental Budgeting

This course provides an introduction to governmental budgeting and finance. Students will discuss the phases, aspects, and frameworks of budgeting including the preparation of budget proposals, the politics of government budgeting, and passing governmental budgets. We will learn why budgeting constitutes an essential component of government accountability and performance management. 3 credit hours
