HIS 307 Podcasting the PastFall/Spring
In recent years, podcasting has become an incredibly popular form of media, with hundreds of thousands of podcasts being produced on a range of subject. Public historians—those who bring historical study to the public—are always in search of new ways to reach their audiences, and many have turned to podcasts as a form of outreach and access. This course will engage the podcast form as a medium of public history. Students will learn the methodology and theory behind podcasting—especially creating history for an audio medium, as well as the tools of podcast production. By semester’s end, students will produce a history podcast series for public consumption.
