GER 215 Social Aspects of Aging

Fall/Spring

This course is designed to be an introduction to the sociology of aging. A primary goal of the course is to sensitize students to the special issues of late life. It will include consideration of financial, legal, emotional, social contact and family factors. We will discuss various theoretical frameworks and current methodological issues in the field of gerontology, as well as controversies which exist regarding age-related issues. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or PSY 100 3 credit hours
