MED 524 The Reading Specialist as Literacy Coach

This course defines the emerging role of the literacy coach and explores the duties and responsibilities of a coach. Students will examine current theories and practices of effective literacy coaching and datadriven instruction. Additionally, the course will enable students to apply their knowledge of instructional leadership and best literacy practices with effective coaching techniques to expand teachersʼ instructional expertise and ultimately impact student achievement. 3 credit hours
