PMD 211 Emergency Department Research IFall/Spring
This course is offered in conjunction with the Emergency Department at a local hospital. The course is designed to allow the student to conduct emergency medicine research alongside area physician investigators and clinical research staff. Students will spend time screening patients in the Emergency Department to identify eligible patient candidates for clinical trials and participate in data collection for other ongoing studies. Students will be exposed to the workings of the Emergency Department while on screening shifts and will have ample opportunity to shadow emergency physicians. Pass/Fail. Prerequisite: BIO 290 or BEH 260
