PSC 138 Science and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena

Fall and Spring

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena have been prominent in various media since the late 1940s. There has been a heated debate between those who believe the phenomena sometimes represent a non-human form of intelligence and those who do not. There is also vigorous debate among the former, as to the specifics of the phenomena’s origins. We have seen the release of official U.S. military videos of objects that our government admits to being unable to identify and top elected officials and several former heads of U.S. intelligence agencies have expressed the opinion that the subject warrants further study. Congress has passed legislation requiring these agencies keep them informed of their findings. This course is a historical survey of the subject with an emphasis on scientific methodology.
