CYB 300 Emerging Technology TrendsSpring
This course uses multiple industries as a lens to explore emerging technology in order to understand the impact of emerging & evolving technologies on organizations and their operations. Industries include music, arts & entertainment; supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, transportation, & operations; defense, security, intelligence, law enforcement; healthcare; education, finance, and the Sex Tech industry. The sex industry is used specifically because it makes us feel uncomfortable, due to its private nature. Using these various contexts, including the extreme use case of sex tech as a context, students will gain insights into emerging technologies and how they are impacting human relationships and privacy. Students will examine the challenges, opportunities, and ethical dilemmas presented by new and emerging technologies in a range of contexts. Other topics include managing change in organizations as a result of disruption, the benefits and challenges of adapting new technologies, cybersecurity, big data, and legal and privacy issues.
