REC 470 Directed Field Experience in Therapeutic Recreation

Fall/Spring/Summer

These courses are designed to provide on-the job experiences in application of principles and techniques in Therapeutic Recreation. This provides the student with the opportunity to develop the art and skill of dealing with people in a professional capacity while under close supervision of an experienced supervisor and a faculty member. A total of 480 hours must be completed for the nine credit hours required; an additional 120 hours may be completed for an additional three credit hours as a recreation elective. Prerequisite: REC 101, REC 103, REC 200, REC 210, REC 221, REC 331, REC 343, REC 369, PSY 100, SOC 100, and overall GPA of 2.0, or by permission of the instructor.
